' THE OSHAWA DAILY TIMES, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 1932 PAGE FOUR Fastest Trotters to be Seen at 1932 Oshawa Fair ENTERTAINMENT AT OSHAWA FAIR OF HIGH ORDER Special Acts Have Been Booked to Please Crowds in Grand Stand Plans which have been com- pleted by C. P. Davis, secretary of the South Ontario Agricultural Society, are such as to ensure that the entertainmenf features of the Oshawa Fair this year, as wart from the exhibits and ag- ricultural and other competitions will of a high order. The midway contract has again been taken up by the Greater Sims Shows, which provided excellent midway attractions last year. Sending the increased interest in the fair this year, however, the Sims' Shows management has agreed to bring here a larger midway than ever, with some new novelties, and with three additional ride atfrac- tions that should appeal to both old and young. One of these is "The Caterpillar" which has proven a very popular feature this year, and it will be seen at the Oshawa Fair for the first time. ~ Other outstanding entertain- ment features have been ar- ranged for this year. Performers are finding times a little hard, like other folks, and have there- fore cut their rates to some ex- tent, so that it has been possible for Mr. Davis to make arrange- ments for some of the finest acts and performers that have yet been seen at Oshawa Fair, with- out to any extent increasing the cost to the board. "I am quite confident," said Mr. Davis to The Times, 'that . the people of Oshawa and distriet will be agreeably surprised when they see what we have arranged for them, and will do their part in making the fair a success by attending in larger numbers than aver." Varied List of Features For the Fair In arranging their program of en- gtainment for the 1932 Oshawa ir, the directors sought variety as well as quality, with the result that splendid attractions will be on hand to provide amusement tor those who are interested in the lighter side of the Fair program, as well as the ex- hibits. The aim 'of the directors hag been to provide a program with no dead periods, and every after- noon and evening, there will be a splendid 'musical revue and free vaudeville acts in front of the grand stand. The Ontario Regiment Band will be on hand to provide music every afternoon and evening, and Webb's Passing Parade Musical Revue will provide a sparkling and sensational entertainment, both af- tetnoon 'and evening on Tuesday and Wednesday of the Fair, At the close of the performance each eve- ning, there will be a great display of fireworks, with many new novel- ties provided by those in charge of this popular feature of the fair.
