KNITTED JUMPERS When drying a knitted jumper the great thing is to keep the zarment in shape. It is a good plan to lay it out on a thin towel in exactly the shape, pulling the sleeves out widthways, as they have a tendency to get longer, snd arranging the collar careful- ly. Then put another towel over it and lay it out on a shelf in the airing cupboard. It is probably the only one of its kind in all the world. W. R. M. Wwnne., Harbor and Shipping Master of the salubri- ous colony, states that the deck was completed in 1892 to the design of John Blackwood, a Scottish engineer. The dock is 240 feet long over-all and is 46 feet wide at the entrance. The lifting platform is composed of 31 sections, moved independently or in concert by vertical steel screws which, in turn are rotated by a horizontal 'worm' keyed to. a shaft running the full length of the dock on either side, The dock will lift 1,200 tons deadweight and each section will take its share of weight, even on curved surfaces.
