McKe®, Correspondent) MANCHESTER, July 1>.--There passcd away as a result of a car accident on Saturday afternoon Mrg thos. McKee, of Manchester, Mrs. sMcKee who lives about a quarter vof a mile south of Manchester was going to the village when the acci- dent occurred, She had just crossed the road to the right side when she was struck down by a car going north and being driven by Mr. Eakens of Toronto. The doctor and ambulance were summoned but she passed away a few minutes later while being rushed to the Oshawa Hospital. Although Mrs, McKee was in her seventy-third year she was un- usually smart and active for one of her vears and will be greatly missed in the neighbourhood being of a cheerrul disposition and always ready to give a helping hand to any- one in need. She was a member of the Manchester United Church, "fhe funeral was held from her late home -on Monday afternoon, her pastor, Mr. Tottem having charge of the service. The very large crowd of relatives and friends spose for itself -the high esteem in which the deceased lady was held. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Mr. Thos. McKee, four daughters, Mrs. J. T. Evans, Raglan, Mrs. Joseph McGaphey, Lindsay, Mrs. Clarence Cooke, Pros- pect, and Miss Edna McKee at home. One son, Lloyd McKee, of Manchester and five grand child- ren Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Thompson, Mrs, Joseph Ward and daughter, Jean, Utica, attended the Holburn picnic held at Lake Simcoe on Sat- urdsy.
