A convincing case was put be- fore the committee by the vie- tims of landiadies who profiteer by sub-letting rooms. Examples were cited to show that houses are divided up and let off in such a way that the tenant is receiving from sub-ten- ants three and four times as much as he is paying to the Jand- lord. A keen struggle is extremely likely when the proposals are put before the House.
