NATIVE OF COBOURG SIGNALLY HONORED Elected to Presidency of Medical Society in London Toronto, May 13.--Dr. MacDom- ald Armour, CM.G.,, F.R.C.5, a native of Cobourg, Ont., hus been signally honored by receiving the unanimous nomination "of the council of the Medical Society of London for the presidency of the body. His formal election will take place in May. Dr. Armour is a son of the late Hon, J, D. Arm- our, a chief justice of Ontario. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto. His election will mark the first occasion upon which a graduate of an overseas university as held the office of President of the historic Society, founded in 1773. MILLING CONCERNS CALL FOR RATE CUT Toronto, May 13.--If Canadian railroads wish to retain grain and flour tonnage to the Atlantic sea- board through the port of Montre- al, a revision of freight rates will be immediately necessary. Such is the opinion of Canadian milling authorities, who last night siateu that the cut on the wheat flour Oshawa, Ont ont. rates announced Wednesday by the American railroads, will be reflec- ted immediately on the Canadian industry. At the same time Charley a, Watts, secretary of the Dominion Millers' association, declared that now is a logical time to bring into effect a new rate basis which will give greater protection to Canadi- an millers.
