- Full Text
It is with much sadness we
announce the passing of Anne
Vasko (nee Kot) on January 14,
2021, at Thornton View Long
Term Care Home, in her 88th
year, from Covid19
complications. Anne was
predeceased by her husband
and love of her life Steve in
2018 and was the last
surviving member of her
family, which included her
parents John AND Tekla,
sisters Katherine Jones and
Isobel (Sophie) Sawicki and
brothers Stanley, Lawrence,
Joseph, John and Frank. Anne
had a fulfilling career as a
Registered Nurse in various
places and then as a Teaching
Assistant in local schools.
Anne was a longtime
parishioner and choir member
at St. Joseph the Worker
Parish, Oshawa. Anne had a
great sense of humour, which
she maintained until the end.
She will be fondly
remembered by all who had
contact with her, especially
her nephew John (Marilyn)
Kot. A special thanks to all her
caregivers on Rose Garden
Wing, Thornton View Home.
Due to COVID restrictions, a
private mass and interment at
Resurrection Cemetery will
take place on January 18,
2021. In lieu of flowers,
donations can be made to St.
Joseph the Worker, Saint
Vincent de Paul Society.
