Treacy, Shirley Marie (née Henn) (Died)
- Full Text
Passed away peacefully at
Ross Memorial Hospital in
Lindsay, Ontario on July 9,
2021 in her 79th year. Shirley
had a very difficult and demanding battle with Cancer,
but endured with her faith in
God and support of family and
friends. Shirley enjoyed peace
and family celebrations on the
lake through Canada Day
alongside three generations of
family, for which she was so
extremely proud.
Shirley (Nan) is predeceased
by husband Terry (2015). She
will be greatly missed by son
Steve Clancy (Tammi), grandchildren Amanda Puddister
(Jason Chambers), Adam
Clancy (Elizabeth) and Jake
Clancy, along with many greatgrandchildren. Shirley never
wavered in her love of son
Chris Clancy of California.
Shirley cherished her times
with the family she was
grateful to join through Terry,
including Cathy (Paul Harvey),
Carole (Ed Vienneau), Chuck
(Janet), Anne, Sandy, Paula
(Keith Sorhaitz) and numerous
beloved grandchildren. Memories of dearest friend Regis
were always in her thoughts.
Family was always the centre
of focus for Shirley. Mother
Doris Henn (1995), was matriarch of a tight knit Belleville
Ontario family after Father Ted
had passed many years earlier.
Shirley is survived by loving
sisters Pat Hedger (Larry) and
Lynne Beare (Steve), with
whom she was extremely
close and talked with daily.
She joins her predeceased
siblings whom she had greatly
missed, Judy Cooney and
Jimmy Henn. Surviving and
cherished in-laws are Wayne
Cooney and Norma Henn.
Numerous nieces, nephews,
spouses were beloved by
Shirley.
Shirley continued with her
faith and her great sense of
humour up until her final days.
With Steve and Tammi by her
side, phone calls were made
with family and friends,
sharing great memories, jokes,
loving exchanges, songs, and
even reciting of nursery
rhymes from childhood family
memories. Wonderful nurses
providing exceptional care
were entertained by some
jokes and stories at any
moment. Gospel readings
were conducted to help
Shirley to continue on her
path. A chance 2020 Kingston
hospital encounter with
forever friend Curtis led to a
truly amazing relationship of
guiding in her faith and
learning.
Shirley had many dear friends
kept close over many years,
both near and far, humans and
animals. She had a successful
Real Estate career earlier in
life in Cayucos, California and
gained many friends from that
area whom she has always
kept in touch. She was a
'phone talker' right till the end,
and was able to maintain
many close friendships this
way, even in her challenging
times. Shirley had six different
dogs in adult life whom she
loved and adored, including
surviving little Abby, who was
her loyal companion right by
her side. Mom can rest
assured that Abby will be well
looked after.
Cremation has taken place.
Interment and Celebration of
Life to follow. If desired, donations can be made Canadian
Cancer Society or an Animal
shelter or rescue effort.
