With a view to getting the first | Many Boxers Will Compete ' in Local Show An additional number of applica- tion forms for amateur cards for the boxing tournament to be held here by the Oshawa Boxing Club next month have arrived. They can be obtained from C. Kewley at the Re- former office, . Judging from the number of local boys already entered it is probable that this tournament will be held for their benefit alone. The Riverside boys from Toronto and the other good out of town boys will be matched to- gether, It is realized that some of the local kids have not yet developed sufficiently to pit them against some of the Dominion champs. The good boys will he evenly matched while novices will be pitted against those in their class. Those who have not yet procured amateur cards should make immediate application, The officials of the Oshawa Ath- letic Association are endeavouring to secure the armories for the oc- casion, Business Men Defeat Metros Regiment Me Defeat at Hands Piano Makers With the schedule a little more than half completed, the Indoor Baseball League was brought to a close last evening until after the Christmas holidays. The contest for the leadership has been excit- ing to say the least, but when the league re-opens on January 4, the fight will be continued harder than ever. At the present time there are six teams within a few games of each other, General Motors heading the list with seven victories and no de- feats. G.M.C. have a couple of hard games ahead of them while the oth- er leading teams have the majority of their toughest contests completed. One of the features of the league race is the showing of Knights of Py- thias. The Knights got away to a poor start, but after one or two bad games started to win and continued the good work until now they are in sixth place. The only two teams which have yet to win a game are Cedar Dale and Bankers. Only two games were played last evening, the third game being de- faulted to Fittings by the Bankers, who could not get their players to- gether. The Reginas were scheduled to meet the Y.M.C.A. but by agreement of the two teams the game was post- poned and may possibly be run off Friday evening when the schedule will be completed. The victory gained by the Pen- pushers over the Speed Fiends came as a surprise, but when Gillott is bowling around 103 anything is [1 to happen. Waite also was away off color turning in 103 and 93 in two games. The Penpushers secured a big lead in the third game with not ome of their trio falling below 135. The game did mot af- fect the league standing as the Re- ginas have the first half title firmly within their grasp. Constitution of Church League Several Changes Are Made-- Will Affiliate With 0.A.AA. : The Inter-Sunday School Hockey League which will operate in four series will be governed by a new constitution which was drafted last evening by the executive. Last season a number of difficulties were encountered which will be eliminated this season by introducing new rules. The league will affiliate with the Oshawa Amateur Athletic Associa- tion and be governed by their rules. The president, E, L. Petley, will be the league's representative on the 0.A.A.A. The league will turn. over to the parent body 5 per cent of their gate receipts, All players must be registered on or before the last Sunday in Decem- ber prior to the opening of the league and with the Sunday School with which they intend to play. Players must be in attendance at Sunday School one out of two Sun- days prior to a game-in which they A certified list of play- ers participating in a game, made out on regulation form, signed by the superintendent of the Sunday School, must be handed 5 official in charge of rink before mence- ment of game, Under this rule no player may play on the teams of more than one Sunday School.
