F. McGillivray, medical health officer, reported that Assistant Engineer Ball of the department had Inspected a local milk pasteurizing plant and recommended certain chan- es, The matter will be looked into y the board. The provincial health board was notified and communicated with Dr, McGillivray who took action and swabbed the throats of all the children and nurses at the home. The swabs were returned to the depart- ment where it was found that three were unfavorable. Necessary precaus tions were taken and the danger era- dicated. Tourist Camp Whitby may well be proud of its tourist camp at the town park for the Board of Health has been informed that it has been approved by the gov- ernment, Out of 418 similar camps in Ontario there are only 63 in this cate- gory. Dumping The much discussed question ot dumping in the marsh again came tw light last night and the board made a ruling that no vegetable matter should be deposited there, It will be left to Chief Gunson, as sanitary in- spector, to enforce this ruling, The board also instructed Chief Gunson to communicate witly the owners of certain properties in town and ad- vise them that they must equip thew buildings with sanitary conveniences. An effort will be made to reduce this in the mear future by an extensive stock aell- ing campaign, Winter Activities The club will function during the coming winter months through the activities of the entertainment committee which was elected last evening including Mrs, Geo, Foth- ergill, Miss C, J, Painton, Mrs, Innes, Miss Helena Richardson, Mrs, (Dr.) MacDougall, Norman Thomas, Bert Geale, G, B, Whit- field and Vernon Rowe.
