There are now -505 menrhars !n this section, and some 100,000 em~ ployees are in the league, Mr. Mitchell pointed out that the new Quebec Commission Act goes into effect in the fall and that em= ployers must realize that the costs of enforcing it are to he met by them. The insurance companies do not: pay the costs. They merely collect the premiums and pay dame ages after retaining a fee for their services, he declared. It was neces sary thus for the league to assist the employers by preparing a coms prehensive program. A detailed discussion of the preo- gram to be carried through then followed.
