The rule in connection with the mile cup is that the time must be 6 minutes or less. A request is being made to the honor of the cup that allowance be made for the very poor condition of the track and that the cup be given to Northam. The girls senior champion was Mary Blow with 19 points. The junior champion was Marion Osbourne with 21. The Odlum prize for the runner- up either senior or junior was won by Muriel . Jones. Miss Jones showed really beautiful form in the senior girls running high, clearing the bar as lightly as a swallow. The absence of Maundrell's name from the senior hop, step and jump will be noted. The first consideration is, of course, to ascertain the cost of the undertaking, It was estimated that a sum of nearly $2,000 will be need- ed. This need not be raised at once, however, It is proposed to provide a bowling green with 8 rinks and | four tennis courts, To do this prop- | erly a plot of ground 120 by 320 feet will be required. Methods of financing the work were discussed. A. G. Browning suggested forming a company, sell- ing shares of a $10 or $20 value and renting the grounds to the club at a figure that would give some re- turn to the investors. A new committee was eonsisting of Mr. Robb, chairman; Ed. Bowman, Secretary; Mr. N.j Thomas, Mr. Cooke and Miss Helen | Richardson, this body to have power to add to its number and power to act. The purpose of the committee is to look for a suitable site, secure an option if advisable and then to | proceed to devise means of financing the undertaking. The Town Council formed, is to he ap- meeting with a view to securing some support from that quarter, The need of haste was pointed out | as if the howling green is to be used next year, the grass seed must be sown this fall.
