Inspector Stringer of Toronto Pro- vincial Police Headquarters, who is engaged along with Inspector Rae and Seargeant Creasy, Barrie, in fol- lowing up the attack on Alexander Hodge, is amazed at the lawless conditions he has found in this sec- tion since he took up the Hodge case, Everyfarmhouse, he finds, has a rifle handy to use in case of emergency and he has also been In- formed that the farmers would be subject to furthr attacks, Chisel Aids Police When the body of the dead mar- auder was searched hy the police after his sensational fight with Alex- ander Hodge, property stolen from half a dozen homes was found in bis pockets, A chisel picked up in the Hodge home, and identified as belonging to the dead robber, fitted exactly the marks on doors and windows of houses entered, The chisel was again used today in in- vestigations of robberies of the stores of the United Cigar Company and Davilo Secondo, both at Brad- ford.
