A very deep gloom was cast over our midst on Sunday when the sad news arrived that Mr, Donald Spen- cer's only son had been killed in a motor accident a short distance from his home, two miles south west of this village, It seems deceased, who was in his seventeenth year, was returning alone in his car from Brooklin, when he turned out to miss a mud hole in the road, He evidently misjudged the ditch, and his car overturned on him, smothering him in the muddy ditch.
