Union of Jerman' Citizens of the Jewish Re- ligiops declared Monday with refer- ence to the organization's protest against United States immigration rules. I was announced several days ago that a protest would be filed with the Department of State against ne immigration rule requiring im- migrants of Jewish blood to desig- nate themselves Hebrews in filling jut forms, regardless of their na- tionality. The Central Union takes care of the interests of more than 400,000 German Jews, "In every respeet we are full and worthy Germans, which gives us justification for rejecting any at- <mpts to jeopardize our equality," he said. "The regulation of the American immigration law demand- ng that the question 'race of peo- ple' be answered with 'Hebrew' we regard as an unfriendly act." "We are always willing to term ourselves as belonging to the Jew- ish race, of which we are proud. But the designation of Jewish race or people, we reject decisively. We know only one nationality--German --and refuse to be made members of any other nation."
