GREAT LAUGHING BHOW AT NEW MARTIN THEATRE LAST NIGH Judging from the screams of hearty laughter that emanated from the audience at the New Martin Theatre last night. "Quarantined Riva's" is the comedy hit of the season. There was a good cause for mirth in this Instance as the makers of Gotham Productions have given George Randolph Chester's well known story apd excellent produc- tion and have made every comical situation productive of much fun. The cast is to be commented for their excellent performances and many familiar film faces are re- freshingly new in a line of comedy characterizations that reflect the author's merry tale. The story revolves around a pair of lovelorn swains who are after the same girl. Ope of them has aroused the jealously of a barber by a flirta- tion with his lady friend, the mani- curist. Through a chain of quite logical circumstances they all find themselves quarantined in the same house. To this situation is added the person of a real tough plumber who wants to be paid overtime for the period of his incarceration. The matter is further complicated by the fact that the young lady's moth- | er favors ope young man while the daughter likes the other. Love, of | course finds a way but in this fn- | stance the way fis a long path of funny things that should be seen to be a . "Quarantined Rivals" is that type of smart comedy that appeals to persons of average intelligence. True, there are slapstick moments but the story calls for them. fact all of them win praise in this really funny film. AN EASTERN HOLIDAY National Railways.
