The weekly payment plan is now in use by nearly all the daily newspapers of Ontario, the usual rate being 15 cents a week. The Reformer, however has decided to adopt!a rate of 12 cents a week, which will be payable to carrier boys every Saturday. | The publishers of the Reformer believe that this change will be welcomed by the great majority of subscribers, particularly those who are on a weekly wage or "salary basis, and who therefore find it convenient to plan their budget of expenditures more or less from week to week. | It is also believed that the carrier boys will have a greater incentive to give good service to the subscribers, inasmuch as they will have to call personally on each sub- scriber every week, and their earnings will depend on the efficiency of their delivery. Subscribers who are now paid in advance will be furnished with coupons covering the period to which their subscription is paid, and these coupons will have the same l| value as cash in settling their weekly account with the carrier. Subscribers in arrears will receive an account covering the amount owing up to, December 31st, 1926, and it is expected that these accounts will be settled promptlyil in order to ensure no interruption in the weekly service. These: accounts will be payable direct to the Reformer office, not to carrier boys. The latter will be respon- | sible only for the weekly collections commencing with the first week in January. The publishers of the Reformer sincerely hope that all city subscribers will co- operate in giving this new plan, which has proven very satisfactory elsewhere, a fair trial here.
