PAGE EIGHTEEN THE OSHAWA DAILY REFORMER, SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 1926 Add "HALA The above scene taken from inside the race track shows a section of the crowd viewing tHe vaudeville acts and trotting races during the afternoon at last year's exhibition. Not in years has the management of the Oshawa exhibition been able to secure the high class grandstand at- tractions that will be presented this year at the big fair, September 16 to 18 inclusive. Free vaudeville acts will be presented in front of the grand stand on the afternoons of Saturday and Friday, while these will be re- peated both evenings of the fair. The Harringtons, the wonder acro- bats of the present age, are unsur- passed in their particular 'line and have delighted thousands in the larger cities with their thrilling performan- ces. Tice's comedy dogs will also be a feature, and no one should miss see- ing these clever dogs perform. There will also be two single aerial acts. The fireworks alone will be worth going miles to see. In the past this has been a real feature of the exhi- bition but it is planned this year to make it even more of a drawing card. The fireworks will be of a particu- larly spectacular nature. In addition to the usual rockets and flares, many novel features will be introduced which will be sure to please. On Friday and Saturday evenings, Sept. 17 and 18, as a climax to the evening grandstand performances there will be brilliant displays of fire- works. Oshawa Fair has always been noted for the excellence of its fire- works display and this year is np ex- ception. There are 60 numbers in each display, which will be big features of the Fair. Here are a few of the special numbers--Sunrise and Noon- day Illuminations, Crystal Palisades, Dancing Man, Fir Trees and Whistl- ing Birds, Transforming Star Wheel, The Silver Veil, Sun of the Golden Varied Attractions Are Arranged For Big Fair West, Triple Crystal Fountains, King Tut's Royal Star, The. Harvest of Gold, Canadian Maple Leaf and Royal Crown, Grand Final Melee. A very strong midway has been se- cured this year. J. Dalziel will be in charge of the midway attractions, and in addition to the usual riding devices such as merry go round, Ferris wheel, Whip, ctc.,, a number of shows and will be of a high order. Wonder what she'll do if she finds there are too many. Restaurant steaks cost more than rubber but they last longer. SAILINGS FROM MONTREAL TO LIVERPOOL pry - ais . e . Montc Oct. 1, Oc .
