Passed away suddenly in a tragic car accident on May 5, 2021 at the age of 42. Beloved husband of Christa for almost 15 years and cherished Daddy to his precious boys, Nathan and Ryan. He was a loving son to his father David Hruska and stepmother Cheryl Petherick, and to his mother Marlene Anderson. He was a big brother to Al Hruska, Jill Anderson Ayotte and April Anderson. Lee was a dear son -in-law to Rev. Robert and Irene Morley and treasured brother-in-law to Amy and Dave Cottenie. He was an adored uncle to Emma and Jackson Cottenie, and Connor and Kira Ayotte. Fondly remembered by many loving Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, as well as step-grandparents Bill and Gladys Petherick. Predeceased by his Nanny and Papa, Bill and Grace Sneddon, and his Grandmother, May Hruska. He was a special friend to many. His school community at Dr. Robert Thornton Public School in Whitby mourns the loss of a dedicated and passionate teacher. He creatively inspired a generation of students in
their love of science, coached many sports activities, and encouraged them to lead purposeful lives even after they moved on from his classroom. His contribution to the teaching profession leaves a lasting legacy with fellow staff, students, and parents that will never be forgotten. Lee's most treasured roles were as caring and supportive husband to his dearest Christa and as devoted father raising Nathan and Ryan with love and protection, guiding them in their academic pursuits with pride, and playing games with boundless energy. Lee knew the importance of making memories like enjoying a campfire watching the Georgian Bay sunset. He fervently loved his wife and children and embraced every moment together with them. Lee approached his life like a cross-country run: thorough preparation and planning, supporting and cheering for all those he encountered along the way, a competitive spirit who would always strive to meet his goals, while keeping things fun with his favourite songs. Although his finish line came much too soon, we are comforted that he rests with his Lord and Saviour in heavenly peace.
Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming when they have been finalized. In lieu of flowers, we would encourage donations in his memory to the Sunnybrook Hospital or Let's Talk Science, providing STEM programs to youth and educators.
