Shirley passed away peace- fully early morning on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at the Brantford General Hospital. She was in her 82nd year. She was the beloved wife of Stephen Welling for the last 33 years. She is predeceased by her parents, Bonnie Lockhart and Willard Blakey, her two siblings Ronald and Joan Marie, both who died at birth. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews, in- laws, friends, and the many, many wedding couples whose ceremonies she officiated at. After 80 years packed full of adventures, love, and com- munity service, our wonderful Shirley has passed away. With

heavy hearts, she has left a huge hole in the life of her husband of 33 years, her extended family, and friends. Reverend Welling performed many marriage ceremonies, alongside her husband, and inspired young couples to live their best lives. She was a mentor to many and her smile was contagious. Shirley had diverse career opportunities, from administrative assistant to private enterprise, and she excelled at them all. She was an avid reader, loved to sew, and was master chef in the kitchen. Shirley gave us stren- gth in times of trouble, wisdom in uncertainty, and shared her love in times of happiness. She loved life completely and lived it intensely. Shirley's joy for life transmitted to those around her and we will never forget the sparkle in those unforgettable eyes. Until they meet again, Stephen espec- ially, will continue to take delight in her brilliance and her spirit. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family gathering has taken place, followed by a service.
