- This is a photograph of members of Oshawa Lawn Bowling Association taken May 20 in 1911, when Oshawa was honored by a visit from William Jennings Bryan. Mr. Bryan appears slightly to the right of the centre of the picture. He is holding a bowl in his cupped hands. He used the bowls owned by Mr. John Goyne, which were later presented to him. This photograph was made on the former bowling greens at the north west corner of Simcoe Street North and Richmond Street. The figures are facing west, and in the background may be seen pictures of houses which were later replaced by the Cohen block. The wooden fence has also been removed.
