Tuesday, January 8th, 2008 Nipigon-Red Rock Gazette Page 3 Greetings from Canadian Crime Stoppers Association On behalf of the Directors of the Canadian Crime Stoppers Association, I am very pleased to congratulate all of the Volunteers, law enforcement partners, media partners and staff across Canada as we enter into January which has been designated Internationally as Crime Stoppers Month. Our Canadian cumulative results since inception as at the end of 2007 total an impressive $2.7 Billion of Drugs Seized and total Property Recovered. This has been accomplished all across Canada and definitely is helping to make our Communities safer places to live. Crime Stoppers continues to be an excellent example of what can be accomplished in our communities when we work together. In our case Law Enforcement, the Media and the Public all cooperate on an ongoing basis to make our Programs the successes they have become. Our theme this January is Global Issues-Community Solutions. This captures exactly what Crime Stoppers represents with over 1000 Programs now operating worldwide. Here in Canada we have 108 Programs actively working in their communities to help not only solve Crime but also to help prevent it as well. This is accomplished through the strong partnerships in each Community between Law enforcement, the Media and the Public. Unfortunately, Crime does not know boundaries and our world wide network provides us with the opportunity to more information and tips wherever we operate. We thank each and every one of you for your hard work to date and encourage you to continue as we work to make our communities even safer places to live, work and raise families.
