Call today for more info. 887-3583 Morrissey - Mrs. Roseline (Rose) Josephine Morrissey, 76 years, of Red Rock, Ontario passed away Thursday, December 27, 2007 in the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital, Nipigon, Ontario, surrounded by her family. Rose’s main interest was her family and she enjoyed her pets as well. She was a bartender for the Red Rock Legion, the Main Hotel the Vicmore and the Red Rock Inn over the years. Rose was a member of St. Hilary’s C.W.L. and of the Ladies Auxilliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #226, Red Rock. She loved to camp, knit, play cards and bowl. Predeceased by her parents - Jessie and Elias Siwek and by her only sister Carol Gibson; she is survived by her husband Clayton (Pat) Morrissey of Red Rock, by four children - Patrick Morrissey of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Curtis (& Alice) Morrissey of Gibson, British Columbia, Sandra (& David) Parker and Terri Morrissey (& Grant Landry) both of Red Rock, by eight grandchildren -Michael (& Nancy) Parker of New Glascow, Nova Scotia, Keith (& Kim) Parker of Sudbury, Ontario and Alison Parker at school in Waterloo, Ontario, Shane and Jesse Morrissey of Gibson, British Columbia, Tyson, Karli and Marrissa Chalifoux all of Red Rock and by two great grandchildren - Ruby Parker, and Ashton Parker. Prayers were offered at the Elloitt Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon on Sunday evening at 7 P.M. Funeral services for Rose Morrissey were held on Monday, December 31,2007 at 11 A.M. at St. Hilary’s Church in Red Rock with Father R. Morriseau officiating, assisted by Deacon L. Marchand. Pallbearers were: Tyson Chalifoux, Grant Landry, Curtis Morrisey, Shane Morrissey, David Parker, Keith Parker Honour guards were formed by St. Hilary’s Catholic Women’s League and by the Ladies Auxilliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #226, Red Rock. Interment was in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Thunder Bay, Ontario. Friends so wishing made donations to the charity of ! their choice. Lieutenant Governor’s 2008 Aboriginal Youth Book Drive On December 19th, 2007, the Honourable David C. Only, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, announced a book drive for aboriginal youth. In the tradition of former Lieutenant Governor James Bartleman, the Honourable David C. Onley launched the book drive that will begin on Tuesday January 1st and last until Friday January 18th, 2008. All Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) detachments throughout the Province of Ontario will accept brand new children’s books up to the Grade 8 reading level. These books will be distributed to our native youth in Ontario’s northern regions. Books can be dropped off at either the Nipigon or Schreiber O.P.P. detachment. Thank you for your support.
