12 NORSHORE SENTINEL Thursday, December 15, i960 Peltier â€"Nicholson Marriage At Church of Annunciation Yvonne Marie Peltier and Thomas Arthur Nicholson exchanged marriage vows in the Church of the Annunciation, Nipigon, on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 11 a. m. The bride is the third eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. Peltier, Nipigon. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Nicholson of Hurkett. Rev. Meyers performed the ceremony. Organist and soloist was Mrs. R. Winfield, who sang "On This Day O Beautiful Motherâ€, "Oh Lord I Am Not Worthyâ€, and Panis Angelicus. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose an enchanting ankle length gown of white net over whispering taffeta. The fitted bodice featured long lily point sleeves and a high neckline with a pearl collar. With this she wore a three strand pearl necklace and matching earrings. Her shoulder length veil of silk illusion floated from a tiara of pearls and sequins. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Maid of honor, Miss Veronica Martin, was gowned in a street length frock of turquoise organza over matching taffeta. The fitted bodice featured a cummerbund of the same material with organza flower trim. Her headpiece was beige feathers and she wore beige gloves, pumps and a single strand of pearls with matching earrings. Her bouquet was of pink roses. Best man was Cecil Briden of Hurkett. For the reception which was held at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. B. Grizans, Bell St. , the bride’s mother chose a two piece dress of navy blue crepe. Her accessories were white and her corsage was of red roses. The mother of the groom chose a one-piece sheath of navy blue with white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses. Legion Election Due in Red Rock The Canadian Legion branch #226 Red Rock held their annual meeting on Dec. 7, in the Legion hall. It was decided at this meeting to carry on with the children’s Xmas party again this year. Pres. Ed Kotzma will be in charge. The preparations for the New Years Dance to be held on Sat. Dec. 31 are well under way and promises to be a gala affair. The nomination committee of P. Sigurdson and G. Newart did a very commendable job, with the large number of candidates they were able to get who were willing to stand for election this year. These, along with those nominated from the floor will give members one cf the largest lists of candidates that the Legion has had in some years, from which to choose their officers, Election date is the 16th and 17th of Dec. in the club room.
