Description
In early 1957 A centennial committee was formed to mark the anniversary of the incorporation of Newmarket as a village. One of the tasks of the committee was the creation of a souvenir book. Jack Luck, a member of the Committee, invited the public to contribute photos and facts for the souvenir project. The contributions included many articles along with pictures of historical events, buildings, community leaders, and organizations.

Advertising space was sold to local businesses. The selling price of the book was set at $1.25 per copy and was available for sale at various locations along Main Street.
The celebrations took place the week of August 15-18, 1957.

A financial statement submitted to the town in February 1958 reports the sale of advertising $5,683.75; sale of centennial book $1,848.60; cost of printing $4,977.77; profit $2,554.58.
