Description
For the first time the Newmarket Food Pantry received direct support from the provincial Government during the COVID-19 pandemic. 2700 ‘hampers’ or boxes of non-perishable food items were received to be delivered directly to the clients of the food pantry. Each family member using the food pantry received a hamper with a 7 day supply. The food pantry topped up the hampers with dairy, fresh produce and meat. With many volunteers the Food Pantry began doing home deliveries to its clients with curbside drop off to keep everyone safe and socially distant.
