36/ , YOUR Georgina Township facilities manager HOCKEY TOURNEY Non~eontact hockey is coming to a close. After eight weeks of exciting hockey. the six teams will be staging a mini-tournament at Sutton Araia to determine a champion and consolation champ. Games will be played on Wed, April 18. from 7 to 11 pm; Fri. April 20. from 9 to II pm; and Sun. April 22, from 7 to 11 pm. The Sunday game will be the championship game. Admissior. is free. ' NOMINATIONS CLOSED Preliminary nomipations for the new Georgina Minor Hockey Association executive are now closed. If you failed to submit any names, please do so at the.general meetirg on Sun. April 29. ' . Some people may be sitting back and'hoplng for this proposal to fall on its face. By the in- dication of nominees. the executive will likely have a few new faces. which can only be bene cial. Do your part and vote on April 29. and then get ' a ested in hockey. , Let us put the personality con icts behind us a ' and work together. It s now in your hands. PLAYOFFS FINISHING L'P . The G.M.H.A. hockey playoffs are nearing completion. The novice games. as always. have been entertaining to watch and exciting for the parents The bantams. peewees and midgets are all in the last rounds and your support at the game would be appreciated. LITTERBL'GS It is unfortunate that. our facility users cannot be more respectable with regard to the litter situation. Litter cars are placed throughout the arena and spectators are usually {our to five steps away from each one. But our spectators keep throwing the garbage all over the place. ' I agree that we have staff who are hired to keep the arena clean. but as you have read. we hart-reduced the operating cost in the arenas in 1978and were still able to produce the same level of efficiency requested. To keep costs reasonable. we would ap- premate your help. Take the stride to the gar- bage barrel if you want a nice clean facility. GET WELL Two of our park-arena employees are in the hospital. Speedy recovery wishes go outto Elgin mics and Fedor Kicak. FRISBEILE MATCHES Rumor has it that Sutton High School will be holding a frisbee tournament. I guess the sport is nally catching on. even though one secretary at S.D.VH.S questions the art of frtsbee. I trust that the school will pursue the project. My recent trek to eastern United States added 14 more ying objects to my collection. The present number in my collection is 1.080 and growing. SORRY LANNY The Cook's Texaco bantam team looked as if II brought a favorite Leaf to watch its game. After careful observation we realized it was not Lanny MacDonald but Harry Ford. Our apologies to Lanny. Curling awards to be . presented NEH/MARKET t'rophies will be presented to the following winning rinks in the women's section of the , :ork ('urling Club on nod .
