hundred and twenty five local jobs will be disappearing into the United States during the next seven months because HarperOaks Ltd will close its Aurora operations by March In a press release Friday HarperOak president Roger Stevens said Continuing economic decline in the industries served by the company dictated transfer of the products produced in Aurora to other existing facilities of Oak Industries Inc Those facilities are located In Illinois where parent company Industries has its head office The firm produces switches for electric and gas ranges air conditioners and computer and telecommunications equipment The plant which is currently 26000 square feet has been in Aurora for the past years and will be for sale when Oaks orders are filled and operations suspended The fiveacre site at the corner of Cousins Dr and Edward St also contains a soccer pitch which is maintained by the town Ninety per the workers affected are female and most are I members of the Canadian Electrical Workers Union The work force is drawn from Keswick Newmarket and Rich- Hill as well as Aurora Mr Stevens said at a news conference at the plant Friday he had received no immediate reaction from the
