Neil Hamilton hard working campaigner for John Roberts stood in the gloom of Liberal campaign headquarters on Main St and asked no one in particular Why do they have to knock off the bright stars the young guys l their way up who are starting to do something for this country Two hours earlier before the vote tabulation began John Roberts was regarded as one of likely choice for a cabinet post in the next government Now at pm John Roberts was a soundly defeated candidate victim of a lastminute Conserva by the uncommitted vol- his intentions to run again Mr Roberts said he felt his campaign was wellrun and well organized that feel ing played a role but not a major Will he run again I still believe in the system and in the things Ive worked for in politics he said He implied he would like to
