past week marked the return of the House of Commons after the three month recess Many people seem to re gard the recess as a kind of extended holiday for politicians but in fact it simply means a different kind of work Most MPs spend much of the recess going about talking to their most of the summer was spent in committee work in Ottawa first in preparing the External Affairs Re port on United States- Canadian relations and then preparing the report of the Finance Committee on tax reform The tax re form report was presented to the Commons a week a great deal of interest I shall be
