of open space and it should be welcomed by bury Whitchurch and King Townships For only these areas with the services they require The three townships have predominately rural economies For this reason the ratepayers of these three townships would be faced with an excessive tax burden if they had to provide the education recreation already on the drawing boards On the other hand Newmarket can provide these facilities much more easily and is in fact already providing ome recreation police and fire protection In some of these townships now From Newmarkets point of view if the town is to survive as an entity it must have planning control over these developments This can only be done if they are part of the corporate town limits If the town does not have this control another municipality could give the green light to a large commercial and shopping complex on the towns fringe reap the tix benefit from it and leave Newmarket merchants to pay the all the money in the world spent not make it the thriving centre of the community Planning control over these developments will bring another bonus Roads sewers hydro water mains and street lights in the area can be planned as single At present euh municipality goes its separate way The result has been patchwork of streets which dont which do poor traffic plow and a general lack of of what should be a single homogeneous
