arts to the fan arts Lesters creations are hand crafted in and include fun mobiles of fish and cats decorative pieces of water lilies and var ious flowers pieces of rare beauty and color The also includes var ious designs in vases of royal blues deep rich reds sunflow er yellow and dark greens He designs almost exclusively now Lester is at present at the Gift Show in New York City with a display of his prod ucts He twice yearly at the Industrial Building at the CNE Lester is a member of the Newmarket Drama Club and has helped with sets on nu merous occasions Mrs Lesters mother is a skilled artist n her own right She has on display hand braided rugs in various colors and designs made by her She also has band made quilts in single and double bed sizes She fea tures fun cushions one design a another a Hon which the children love HONORED Leppard bom Sharon in 1861 was recently honored and presented with the Award of Merit Gold Medal and Citation by Mrs J Patterson National President of the Canadian Council of the Blind on be half- of all the CCB Clubs across Canada Mr lives on a farm on the Concession of East and was one of the first students to attend the School for the Blind Many of the area residents know him as a talented mu sician and organist He has played at the Church He is still active and alert He is a memoer of the CNIB National Council since its beginning and is still a Vice President He is also Vice Chairman of the Ontario Board of Management YEAR Mr now in his year spoke in a vibrant voice of carrying quality of the early days of the CNIB He needed no microphone his voice carried clearly He received a standing ovation from the audience at this spe cial ceremony The Community Programs Division of the Ontario Dept of Education in Emblem For Forces OTTAWA The design of a new emblem for the Cana dian Armed Forces has been approved by Her Majesty Elizabeth The emblem will be phased into use gradually over a per iod of time It embraces fa miliar symbols of the navy army and air force Existing service emblems will continue to be used as appropriate un til the armed forces unifica tion bill has been proclaimed The new emblem is com posed of a Crown over a blue oval background sur rounded by a wreath of ten stylized maple leaves Super imposed on the oval in gold is the navy fouled anchor the army crossed crusader swords and the traditional air force eagle First use of the new em blem will be on armed forces administrative vehicles man uals and certificates publi cations and displays ate of Oxford and has worked in professional repertory the atre in Great Britain since as an actor stage man ager and director Back in London the follow ing season he became Staff Producer at the Royal Shakes peare Companys Theatre He has been on the staff of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the East Acting School- He has also given special courses for the British Drama League The registration fee is for the course There will be limited registration and refunds two weeks before the course commences Cheques should be payable to the East ern Ontario Drama League with application Applications should include been employed at the Village of Leisure Arts Hobbies and Crafts near Provincial Park Bob is making Centennial Candles in various designs of crests and coins and they are in constant demand Bob will
