T A Children At School NEWMARKET father may have won his tight to keep his two children at Maple Leaf Public School in East GwiHimbury Heights the fate of the two childrens scholastic future is to be decided at a meeting of the Gwillirnbury Township School Board issue arose when Mr McGuigan was informed that he could longer send his children to Maple Leaf School because he had moved a few doors along Ave This placed his residence the Maple Leaf School area and meant that the children would have to attend in the Town of Newmarket proper Board Chairman Walter Rale said this week that an attempt will be made at this weeks board meeting to clarify the situ ation Mr Rate said that two factors would be discussed at the meeting Theres a clause in the School Act which provides that a child available at the school If there isnt then the child residing in the section will receive preference Man Charged Following Starved Dogs Death NEWMARKET A Lake Wilcox man was remanded in Newmarket Magistrates Court Friday charged with causing unneces sary suffering to an animal and failing to provide suitable food water and shelter The charges against Neil Tucker were laid by the Toronto Humane Society after a dog died of starvation Dec 14 Inspector Leonard Addison said the was taken to the Humane Society shelter following com plaints from area residents The emaciated animal died three hours after it was examined by a veterinarian Maximum sentence on each charge is six months in jail plus a fine The Toronto Humane Society look over Inspection and investigation of York County from the
