successful businessman and a candi date of above average calibre and ability- He has many qualities that will commend hi- candidacy to the consideration of the elector The candidate of the New Democratic Party Stan Hall is no stranger in the constituency He has appeared before the electors before under the banner of and is now making his run as representative of the more broadly based Although the race is only now getting under way the riding has also been hon ored by visits from leading policy mak ers in the three parties Hon Donald Fleming Minister of Finance in the cabinet was guest speaker at the PC convention At he Liberal gathering the keynoter was Mitchell former deputy minister trade and commerce tipped a m inter of Finance in the cabinet that Hon Les ter Pearson would form if elected to of fice at the polls He in also Mr Flemings opponent in the Toronto con stituency And at the New Democratic Party last week the guest speaker was Professor George Grttbe of the Univer sity of Toronto He is one of the brain trust and policy makers As lie- campaign momentum undoubtedly other leaders of the various parties will be visiting the riding to dis cuss and debate the issues They are im portant issues In fact this may well be one of the most crucial election con tests in Canadas history It is to be hoped therefore that the voters of this area will take full advantage of the opportunities that will be afforded them to attend the meetings of the various parties and hear the issues discussed and the conflicting policies expounded Having done that it will then be their duty to go to the polls and cast an in formed and conscientious Canada after all Is their country and in doing that they will only be doing their duty PARENTS BE CAREFUL Last week a
