Parking Lot Area A resolution by and Councillor Haskett thai the Ruddy Co billboards be removed from the Parking lot was lost when New market council met on Nov The resolution was introduced at the preceding meeting and post poned for one week to enable councillors to visit the site Mr Wrightman said rubbish accumulated around the signs and with them removed it would be possible to keep the area and the banks of the Holland River in better condition We have had trouble keeping the creek clean he continued With the stores left open the owners would be more likely to keep them clean and we could find another location in town for the signs you take those signs out it will leave a very situation replied Deputy- Reeve Violet who suggested that the signs could he moved back 10 feet and that would pave that additional space The backs of the stores would be exposed and no one would appreciate that neither the own ers nor the people using the parking lot she said feel that section of the river could be beautified said Mr paid a lot of money to pave th lot and we should remove those signs to help extend the parking space and improve its appearance The situation doesnt warrant the removal of the signs said Councillor Ridtcr I checked there I his week and found the odd bit of paper lodged in tin- grass The situation will im proved if they are moved hack 10 feet closer to the stream It would he a good idea to have one of the town workmen clean up around those signs and else where in town The signs look at least as well and perhaps bet ter than the unexposed backs of the stores he added It is the wish of the property committee that the signs stay at the parking lot said Council lor Kent This talk about filth around them has exaggerated the situation All Loblaws want is to have the signs moved closer to the river The resolution was lost call ing for the removal of the bill boards from the parking lot boundary APPROVE AMENDMENT TO BYLAW Approval of an amendment to
