of officials and members of three congregations The presentation to Rev and Mrs Wood was made at a noon hour luncheon at the Wesley church Wilbert Jennings peranceville made the introduc tory remarks and R C Baycroft Gormley made the presentation Mr Wood has received a call to Royal York United church as an associate minis ter where he will be in charge of Christian education On Thursday night July an induction ceremony will be held for Rev Ivan Kennedy Canning- ton who is the new minister The official ceremony is in the charge of Rev King City chairman of York Presby tery Rev Robert Graham will preach and Rev A will give the charge to the new minister The ceremony willbe held in Wesley church Don Mills Ministers of the Presbytery and lay mem bers will join the congregations when Mr Kennedy is received into the incumbency A recep tion for Rev Kennedy and his wife will follow Rev Kennedy who has been at the Cannington United church for nearly eight years will occupy his new pulpit young people when the graduation ban quet was held at Summit View St at Jefferson at the close of their school term It was attended by includ- parents teachers and trustees Preparation for this successful event was undertaken by Judy Gamble and Linda Chalk Car son Bice teacher of grade eight was master of ceremonies Present Diplomas Mr Scott gave out the diplo mas and Mr Bice distributed the special awards Mrs Kay Burt wife of the school secretary led the singing of the grace and the National Anthem The graduates represent three school sections King City Strange but all have been under Mr Bice at King City by special arrangement of the three school boards Graduates of King City are John Graham Brian Peter Joan Bryans Judy Gamble Ken verley Susan Davie Allan Mc- Leod and Ken McKcnzie From Strange arc Peter Read- head David Johnson and Janet and from ville are Diane Annand Steve Barber and Linda Chalk King City principal Miss Dennis congratulated the pupils on their success wishing them success in their high school course She also congratulated Mr Bice and expressed the wish that they would show a high code of honor which would be a good reflection on school which are leaving Fine Spirit Mr Bice spoke of the shown by his class the fine class spirit and the dependability displayed He stressed the im portance of good citizenship and made special mention of llltyd Harris of For her general proficiency faithful endeavor persistence allround good personality and high regard for school spirit Jan et Buddin received her teachers special prize Mr Bice presented Janet with a travelling case con taining useful accessories To Steve Barber for his con sistent diligence and his ability to apply himself in whatever he undertook Mr Bice presented a billfold The pupils showed their appre ciation of Mr Bice for his pains taking teaching his sportsman ship and attention to duly by pre senting him with a set of glass tumblers and tray Steve Barber made the presentation Mr Bice also noted the success of Judy Gamble in reaching the finals of the Ontario elementary spelling bee contest He also commended Judy and Linda Chalk for arranging the sueeess- ful banquet Remember Parents The parents many of whom were present were remembered by the speakers Their interest in their childrens progress and the school as a whole is one of the factors producing a good graduat ing designed and hooked by Mrs A King City a Kingcraft rugger has been sel ected by a jury for exhibition at the National Gallery Ottawa in the first Canadawide handicraft display at the capital Earlier in the year Mrs was invited to submit some of her work Hers was the only Ontario rug chosen for the exhibit In the final selection when 50 pieces in the total number of classes are judged they will be shown at The Canadian Pavilion in the Inter national display at Brussels in hope the Jarvacres rug will hang be hung at Mrs was successful with this same rug in a display at Montreal under the Quebec
