Music came through pure and strong comparatively clear of the usual static background Then a voice almost as if it came from the next room announced This is testing testing The voice was that of Jack Bridge at Niagara Falls and Canada would take its seal at the League of Nations Such events would spark others in the next three decades And radio would play a major role in reporting such events The transmitter more powerful and better receiv ed and the receiver which freed the parlor of cumber some wires and equipment were a major factor in popularizing ra dio By their invention Ted Ro gers substantially developed ra dio That year of there were about homes with radios years later there were over a million radio homes today almost every one of Canadas four mil lion homes can tune a range BY FARM FORUMS How can parity income for ag riculture be achieved This was discussed by Ihe Ontario Forums on January This was the se cond in a series of topics on Par ity For Agriculture Controlled production and sound orderly marketing with proper legislation were the top reasons given to secure parity in come Other suggestions by the Forum members were per cent organization of all farmers forward pricing and more effici ent operation to reduce costs Many Forums pointed out that protection was an import ant way of obtaining parity in come and support prices should be raised to allow for a fairer profit Support your farm or ganization was also voiced by other Forum members Hampton Farm Forum in Dur ham County pretty well summed up the discussion on how parity income could be achieved when they said We think parity in come for agriculture can be achieved by better management and control of marketing This control may be aided by farmers having a bigger main organization with all farmers firmly behind it farmers would stand toge ther strongly on means of mar keting they could control it to a far greater degree The forward pricing for farm products would aid the farmer in his amount of production so the market would not need to be flooded at times The farmers must stand to gether to show the government what control of must be used for their welfare Some price supports at times may help but we think the farmer must help himself FAVORS PAYING CIVIL JUSTICE COSTS York County council went on record as favoring the assumption of all costs of the administration of civil
