INSTALL GAS APPLIANCES Gas appliance dealers and in stallers of gas appliances are now required to secure licenses from the Ontario Fuel board Board Chairman A Crazier announc es The new regulation became effective on January 1 This measure is being taken to protect consumers against faulty installations of gas appliances Mr Crazier said The regulation cov ering the licensing procedure was hear a panel discussion on The New market Library Past Present and Future Following the appearance in this column of several articles dealing with the work of Friends of the Library groups a question naire was prepared by Mrs Don ald Downey and left at the desk of the town library Mrs Downey is the originator of the idea local ly and has sparked the organizat ion movement to date There was sufficient response to this questionnaire for her to call a meeting It was held in Decem ber with each person who had completed a questionnaire being notified Mr Michael McMorrow chairman of the Library board presided and welcomed those pre sent Mr outlined the new idea proposed at Christmas that each board member add the library to his gift list making a new book for use in the library his gift to all who use its facilit ies He suggested that the Friends group might assist with the idea and a committee was named It consisted of Mrs C Mrs Beatrice Brown Mrs Grace Sinclair and J R- Bell Mr McMorrow explained the boards plans for the establish ment of an archives in the library basement Historical data con cerning the Queens York Rang ers the York County regiment has been brought to told the court he was travel ling north on No highway near on January when he noticed the car driven by Doyle He followed him for some distance but Doyle was weaving so badly he could not pass him He at the south of Aurora was denied by the town council on Monday night as being a bad precedent to supply water outside the town A letter from the companys solicitors asked if Aurora would consider supplying water and under what conditions They realised said the letter that water should come from King township but they preferred to deal with Aurora if possible The letter stated that the com pany planned industrial as well as residential development They also asked if Aurora was plan ning to annex the area and of fered cooperation in preparing the application in this case they can show proof
