the fair grounds into the latest word in sports fields and to give Newmarket a park on a par with the best in Ontario The parks board has been in operation for three years Dur ing that period two fine balldia monds have been built and main tained The work on a third dia mond tor minor baseball and town league was start ed recently The parks committee has a nu mber of projects on the draw ing board which include the building of a track for track and field sports The track it is con templated will be built around the present diamond in an oval shape with ah offshoot track to finish In front of Ihe bleachers on the third base side the committee plans to of the diamond Another contemplated project is the erection of a clubhouse is a necessity particularly at this time of year when num erous out of town teams from distant points are coming in for and playoff contests The Parks Committee also hop es to complete work on the foot ball field this fall so the local soccer team can use This field would be used by the rugby teams in the proposed touch rugby town league now being organized Humours have also been circu lating that Newmarket curlers hove shown interest hi purchas ing the
