going to try to bring to you some of the ordinary everyday happenings that really are New market High School Grade Nine Initiation Friday was the big day for this years first formers On Friday they were officially in as members of the student body of Newmarket High School All day long the freshmen were required to wear a special cos tume and to carry books and shine shoos for the fifth formers and for the teachers They were of much mirth as much to themselves as to everyone else Unfortunately due to the fact that some time will probably be lost during the building of the muchneeded ad dition no time could be taken out of school for the actual Initi ating ceremony This was left out completely much to the sor row of everyone except the grade To make up for this a num ber of games and relays were held on Friday night before the dancing began Those relays were great fun for everyone whether watching or participat ing The rest of the evening was taken up In dancing in which everyone
