pretty well pleased with the showing made in practices to date The club will be dressed in blue and white as Gorman teams have been in the past with blue pants and blue and white sox Pete and coach Herb Cain are leaving no stone unturned to strengthen the club and a new addition will be introduced this week in the person of Johnny a fast- moving forward who hails from Sudbury where he played ju ease to repeat an honor they won in Local Intermediates Hold Practice Session Trolley League Meeting Fizzle Prospects of reorganizing the Trolley League for the intermediate hockey senson at this stage dont appear to be too rosy A meeting for the purpose or reorganizing the circuit was held Friday at the Newmarket arena Only two teams namely Sutton Newmarket sent representatives Notices of the meeting had been sent out to Richmond Hill Aurora as well as New market and Sutton Sutton representatives attend ing were John Clare Morrison Roy Sheppard Cliff Thompson Representing Newmarket were Andy Closs and George After learning that Slouff- ville and had joined forces for an intermediate A club it was decided to contact Richmond Hill au rora also Woodbridge regard ing Trolley Icague in the OHA intermediate race appear bright Leastwise club directors were happy about the teams initial practice over the weekend There were 17 trainees on hand and the list included several newcomers Among the newcomers were George Bill Bain Don Curtis and Jack All the new recruits with the ex ception of Curtis are defense- men Ken Joe Burke Vandorf Bruin last season was the chief candidate for the goalkeeping post while the main bidders for a regular defense post were Bob Ken Broughton Jack George and Bill Bain Up front the Hub hopefuls ap pear well stocked with proven material Frontline candidates on hand were Laurie Thorns Don Curtis Bill Grant Morton Mclnnls Bill Smith and Dave Couch Gibson a returnee after a season in Scotland along with Andy Closs and Don Smith from the seniot showed well in the first practice Manager Andy Closs expects to have several more players on hand for the next practice ses sion which comes up this week As yet a coach for the team hasnt been named but this im portant post is expected to be filled this week SKATERS SATURDAY There were skaters the arena Saturday night as the arena doors were opened for the first skating session of the sen- son Boston organ ization while in turn are affiliated with Owen Sound Junior and Newmarket junior Some local hockey players who intend try out with the Smoke Rings attended the meet ing and enjoyed getting first hand knowledge of Smoke Rings junior hockey plans for this sea son All the players went away with a clearer picture of the pro gram and what a tieup with Flyers meant Mr Cotton also reported that two local boys Bill and Jack Cain who were attending the Flyers camp had im pressed the scouts at the Flyers training camp Groupings While the H A groupings are still very much in the form ative stage Ab the intermediate C convener re ports Aurora intermediates will probably be grouped wilh Allis Thornton Edgar Bolton and possibly Can While nothing definite is known on a grouping for New markets newly organized inter mediate club it is possible they will be grouped with Stouffville Milton George town Brampton and Oakville Brampton and will probably carry an A rating while Newmarket and the other teams in the group including and Woodbridge will probably rate classifica tion- Sutton Greenshirts the other district intermediate club carry ing a rating will probably have a
