Holland Landing would suggest that the coun cils of Aurora Newmarket and East form a com mittee to interview the provin cial and federal authorities with a view to clear out the trees roois and other debris that stop the Holland river from having a free course to the lake During the recent storm the floods on No 11 highway near Wellington St Aurora could have caused fatalities if It were not for the heroic work of the townspeople rescuing cars and from the In there was damage Holland Landing driven from water rushed down Impeded by the debris from thfc Holland locks north to River Drive park If debris were removed I believe that the river would have hod a clear to the lake and the flooding would at least be minimized I am not an expert on these matters but I believe that if an effort were made to clean out this part of Uie river each of the municipalities would benefit and that it would bo good investment saving the lives an properties of the citizens Yours sincerely Sam Deans Holland
