Iff iffWK SHOW WINDOW OF THE COUNTY TOWN jtf- Special Section The Newmarket Era and Express August Next week the annual trade fair and flower show will be held at the Newmarket Memorial arena Newmarket merchants will exhibit their finest wares in the arena which will be gaily decorated as shown in the two photographs above and below The fair open afternoons will be cat for four days Wednesday through to Saturday night Mayor Gladman will open the show Wednesday evening August We shall be pleased to welcome old new customers to the TRADE FAIR August 20 MORRISONS TWO STORES NEWMARKET AND AURORA MAIN STREET NEWMARKET PHONE YONGE STREET AURORA PHONE I Have been looking back over the pictures of the PAIRS we have participated in The first one wo showed in was and we had a small corner space in the back of the arena Our display was a Iontiae Deluxe and I was assisted by our present Parts Manager Sandy Sanderson and his wife The next year we went Native and donned Indian costume to point up the Pontine Station- Wagon we were showing in a somewhat enlarged version of our show We still get a laugh from the pictures of that show with Sandy and Andy Mitchell as Indian Braves supporting a tubby Indian Chief In we had a comparison show with Buick as the feature In this show we had a shown opposite a which was loaned to us from the Casa loma Exhibit of the Duster and Goggles Club This was the year we moved into the centre area and could en large our exhibit somevhat In we put some action in our display with a Hardtop on a rotating turntable The spirit of the youthful coupled to the motion of the equipment attracted a lot of favorable attention Now it is 1951 and showtime again At this moment we have not completed our plans for the show However when the show opens on the 18th we will be there to welcome you and exhibit something of interest in the Automotive Field Show Time is firmly established as a cooperative effort put on by Newmarket merchants and has a twofold purpose It serves to display new and different merchandise to prospective buyers and also point out to our local people that any product or service can be secured right here at home and often more advantageously than the somewhat dubious bargains offered by those who do not support Newmarket i v- 1
