recommend ed that King township council consider capital expenditure re lating to school accommodation The board has suggested in a brief to council that it consider the advisability of requiring that all future subdivisions bear part of the capital costs of new class rooms and schools before council gives them approval The trus tees understand that this is being done by councils of other town ships in the area According to reports up to 400 is being assess ed against each new lot in Tor onto township to help finance their school program made ne cessary by the Influx of new comers Because building activity in the village of King City has over 25 new houses under construction the result will be a considerable increase in the number of pupils in the near future the brief points out The board feels that more classrooms will have to be pro vided within the next year as the present rooms are practically filled to capacity and the school inspector is urging an increase in accommodation Trustees states the brief have fully discussed the matter and a census of all newcomers and age children will be taken before the end of the year In addition to the subdivisions now being exploited the board mentioned others that are plan ned in and immediately adjacent to the village These they say will increase the responsibility of the trustees and taxpayers to sup ply necessary accommodation and high costs of building today raised difficult financial lems Trustees feel that school tax ation in this school section will he onerous in future years unless some help is obtained The board believes that it is only fair that the and builder who are in effect directly res ponsible should make substantial contributions to the extra costs Tire impact of urbanization is being felt more in this section of the township than in others Council must be aware trustees state of the changes that are taking part in the southern part ARMITAGE The next meeting of the St Sewing Circle will be on After contemplating on the brief from trustee board of 2 which had been presented earlier the commissioners of King City village passed a motion by chairman Findlay and A Carson We feel the an swer is in a bigger preparation of industrial assessment rather than in a scheme of subsidies the motion stated I am hot at all strong for this said Mr Findlay commenting on the suggested assessment against and lot holders I sympathize with the school trus tees but 1 do not think an swers the problem There is a prospect for a new subdivision in the village of City At the commissioners meeting on Nov 2 John Dew and Frank presented a sug gested plan including nearly lots for a proposed subdivision on to 18 acres of land south of King St WITHOUT DENTAL ARK Dr Mahon approach ed the North Gwillimbury
