j 1 HOURS fe i- v t B Many a has been disturb ed by the trials and burdens of life So often they have won dered if God has forgotten to care The road Is so steep the valley is so deep the storms of life are so strong Day in and day out tribulations are on every hand and we are prone to cry with the Psalmist How long Lord how long I am reminded of a story that I heard long ago A man was one day in his garden and no ticed a cocoon that was just be ginning to twist and quiver As he watched entranced he saw a lovely moth begin to emerge It struggled and struggled and bat tled against the walls of its prison Hurrying indoors he se cured a pair of sharp scissors Carefully he cut away the re straining bands from the moth It wiggled clear but could not fly nor stand and slowly sank and died It was an abortion The man failed to realize that the struggles of the lovely moth were but exercises to prepare it for the life it must soon lead The twisting and the turning and seemingly impossible task of lib- crating itself were all to the end that it should be strong enough to face the rigors of a new life There is a message here for all of us Believe me dear heart these battles and sorrows and struggles against impossible odds can be under God but prepara tion for something better and greater Someone has written a very lovely hymn that goes like this Not now but in the coming years It may be in the better land Well read the meaning of our tears And then sometime well un- 1 derstand So trust in God thru all thy days Fear not for He will hold thy hand Tho dark thy way still sing and praise Sometime somewhere well understand Port Bonar Presbyterian church was the setting for a pretty fall wedding recently when Eleanor Louise only daughter of Mr and Mrs Cecil James Port became the bride of Raymond Gordon Stephenson son of Mr and Mrs Gordon Stephenson Armitage Newmarket East and the Mount Albert forums met on Dec at the homes of Mr Allah Balsdon and Mr A Case with and 14 members present The Newmarket East will hold their next meeting at the home of Mr BiU Taylor and the Mount Al berts at the home of Mr Brooks The topic under discussion was Why Price Supports The Newmarket group felt that farm prices should be left to the price supports until there was some thing better to take its place The groups were divided opinion on whether the customer benefits as well as the producer in a farm price support one group maintained that it kept a steady even price while an other did not fully agree be cause prices dont come down to the consumer as fast as prices drop to the farmer No matter how efficient the farmer is he still requires price support to maintain an even supply it was felt The Mount Albert group be lieves farm prices should not be left to an open market They believe the consumer benefits as well as the producer in a farm support program pro viding there is a ceiling price as well as a floor price Mount Albert forum would like to know What an efficient farmer is We dont think there will be an efficient farmer until elements can be controlled If there are such farmers we dont think they should need price support v It 111 W PATRICK A pretty
