Goderich, Nov. 24 - Capt. John Vickers, 52, of Goderich, skipper of the Imperial Oil Company tanker Imperial Halifax, died this afternoon in a Halifax infirmary.

Born in Norwich, England, he served overseas with the 71st Battalion in the First World War and was a resident of Goderich for many years.

He was a member of St. George's Anglican Church, Menesetung Canoe Club, Goderich Bowling Club; the Masonic Order and the Canadian Legion at Halifax.

He leaves his wife, two sons, Donald and William of Sarnia, and two daughters, Mrs. George Shepherd, Centralia, and Mrs. Robert Ginn, Goderich, and one brother, Arthur of Grimsby.
