A man named David Harrison, about 65 years of age, was instantly killed at the Canadian National Crossing, on Depot Street, at 9:41 Wednesday morning, by train No. 102, from Toronto to New York, and running at about 45 miles an hour.

His body was carried six rail lengths, about 180 feet, and very badly cut up.

The left arm and right leg were severed.

Mr. and Mrs. Harrison came to Grimsby less than a year ago, and very little is known of the family, though it is known there is a son and a married daughter living in the north.

Harrison was going to his home in the W.F.Clarke house, Ontario street, carrying a small basket of parsnips. Coming to the crossing gates, which were down, he stooped and walked under and kept on toward the tracks.

Barnum, the tower man, yelled frantically to him, but he apparently did not hear him, and walked directly into the path of the train.

Dr. Alexander was notified and will hold an inquest.
