On Saturday afternoon, September 12, in St. Luke's Church, Smithville, the marriage was solemnized of Joan Marlene, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles S. Hawkins, Smithville, and Bruce Albert, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mason, Grimsby.
Mixed flowers in autumn shades formed a background for the ceremony which was performed by the Rev. Canon R.B. Haines. Miss Helen Roberts played the wedding march and accompanied Arthur Hill Jr. who sang. Robert Mason was his brother's groomsman and the ushers were Ted Riley and John Lyon... Miss Donna McCartney, the maid of honour...The bridesmaids, Misses Ruth and Betty Hawkins, sisters of the bride... They will reside in Grimsby.
