Garside Gospel Church, Hamilton, decorated with white and pink gladioli, was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, September the 5th at 3:30 o'clock, when Geraldine Edna, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Blanchard, Grassie, was united in marriage to William Peter Derkson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Derkson, Grimsby. The Rev. R.H. Bradley conducted the double ring ceremony.

Miss Maxine Hysert sang "The Voice that Breathed O'er Eden" before the ceremony and "The Lord's Prayer" during the signing of the register.

...Attending her sister, Miss Barbara Blanchard, Hamilton, as maid of honour...The two bridesmaids, Mrs. Ronald Vickers, Grimsby and Miss Marion Blanchard...Mr. Rudolph Derkson, brother of the groom, was best man. Those acting as ushers were Mr. Douglas Blanchard, brother of the bride, and Mr. John Hogan, Hamilton... They will reside in Grassie.
