The wedding took place in Grimsby Saturday, August 15th at 2 p.m., the Rev. W.J. Murphy officiating, of Betty Jean, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Lonsway, and Earl Stanley Bengston of St. Catharines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bengston of Haney, B.C.
The bride wore a ballerina length dress of nylon tulle over white taffeta with panels of chantilly lace and jacket to match. The matching veil gathered to a flower headpiece. She carried a white prayer book with a white orchid and stephanotis.
The bridesmaid, Miss Donna Orr, wore nylon tulle in Laurentian blue. She carried a crescent bouquet of pink gladiolius. The groomsman was Mr. Ralph Wilde of St. Catharines. A reception of 50 guests followed at the parent's home 44 Park Road N., which was tastefully decorated with garden flowers.
The bride's mother received the guests in a dress of dusty rose crepe and lace with a corsage of glamellias in matching tones. The groom's mother assisted wearing Elizabethan blue nylon mesh. Her corsage was deep pink carnations.
Later the bride and groom left for a month's motor trip through British Columbia - the bride wearing a navy suit with navy accessories and raspberry hat.
Guests were present from Haney, B.B.; Toronto; Niagara-on-the-Lake; Fort Erie; St. Catharines and Dundalk.
