Mrs. Francis M. Unwin, the former Kate Olivia Nelles, died in New York on Wednesday, in her 85th year.
She was born in Grimsby on February 14, 1869, a daughter of the late Henry and Maria Nelles. Her married life had been spent in New York City. Her husband predeceased her in 1947.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. J.A. Black (Isabel) and Mrs. Marguerite Culman, both of New York; also two sisters, Mrs. J.W. Unwin, of Grimsby, and Mrs. Charles Armstrong, of Detroit.
The body arrived in Grimsby on Friday morning and funeral service was held in St. Andrew's Anglican Church at 2:30 p.m. Burial was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
